For the film adaptation, Lee has added in the details of her life at the time and directed a thoughtful look into sex work, love, desire openness and Toronto at the turn of the millenium. Starring Dan Beirne (The 20th Century, Fargo, Priscilla), Emily Lê (Riceboy Sleeps, Mile End Kicks) and Andrea Werhun (Modern Whore).

This screening will be followed by a Q&A with Director Sook-Yin Lee, composer Dylan Gable and supporting actor Becky Johnson, moderated by Spectacular Optical’s Kier-La Janisse.

Iconic Canadian music and visual artist, Sook-Yin Lee, performs an expansive set of her particular brand of experimental genre-bending music surrounded by immersive multimedia visuals. A perfect evening for the gentle expansion of mind and heart. Sook-Yin Lee has been a prolific and singular creator on the Canadian scene since her emergence out of the 80’s/90’s punk scene of Vancouver. She is known for her groundbreaking work on MuchMusic’s alternative show the Wedge as well as countless radio outings (Definitely Not the Opera and the Sleepover on CBC).
